YEF: Beyond the Headlines report – What the latest data tells us about violence affecting children and young people

The new Beyond the Headlines report from the Youth Endowment Fund looks past the media and political debate to ask a vital question: are we keeping children safe from violence?

Every year, thousands of children are affected by violence. But is the situation improving – or getting worse? And how well are the systems that support children responding?

To help answer these questions, YEF have created a core indicators dashboard, tracking 11 key measures. It’s designed to cut through complexity and offer a clear, data-driven picture of the trends that matter most. This report is their first annual update since launching the dashboard last year. It includes the latest full-year data for 2023/24.

and don’t forget, the Youth Endowment Fund Toolkit outlines a wide range of evidence to support organisations exploring the many options for developing local responses and initiatives.
