Being a young person can be exciting and fun, but there may also be times when you feel worried or are struggling.
In this section of the site the Newcastle Safeguarding Children Partnership provides information about local services that provide support and links to national organisations who specialise in supporting children and young people across a wide range of issues.

What is Safeguarding?
Safeguarding is any activity which promotes the wellbeing, development and health of children and young people. This can include the support you gt from school, youth groups and doctors. It might also include more specialist support such as for Mental Health, those with Special Educational Needs or Speech and Language difficulties.
What is Child Protection?
Child Protection means keeping you safe from abuse. Every child and young person has a right to be safe. Child abuse is any action by another person – adult or child – that causes significant harm to a child. It can be physical, sexual or emotional, but can also be about a lack of love, care and attention.
If you do think you or your friend is experiencing one of these issues please talk to a trusted adult or contact one of the numbers below.
In an emergency always ring 999.
