Risk Outside The Home (ROTH)
Child Protection and Safeguarding responses have historically focused on abuse which occurs within the family home. Therefore services have often focused interventions on parents, the family home and younger children.
These resources are intended to support partners in responding to the needs of children who experience Risk Outside The Home (ROTH). Over the last 10 years greater awareness of the risks and harms children face in their communities have emerged risks such as peer-on-peer abuse, Child Sexual Exploitation (CSE), Child Criminal Exploitation (CCE), Gang related harm, Trafficking and Knife Crime.
Practitioners and agencies working in partnership is the key to tackling these risks.
These resources include
- Recorded sessions delivered for the NSCP on Risk Outside The Home.
- The Newcastle Agency ROTH Child Protection Report is the report agencies are asked to complete for ROTH Child Protection Conferences and Reviews.
