Resisting the Dilution of Trauma Informed Practice
Dr Lisa Cherry OBE is an author, researcher and leading international trainer specialising in helping services change the way we work with those experiencing and living with the legacy of trauma. Lisa has worked extensively with Social workers, Educators, Probation Workers and those in Adult Services, training and speaking to over 35,000 people around the world including in the US, Australia and Pakistan and across the whole of the UK.
As we become more aware of trauma and its impacts, services are rightly seeking to become more trauma informed in their approaches with children, parents/carers and families. Truly trauma informed practice has the power to transform lives however there are risks that practice is being swallowed up by compliance (tick-box culture) and misunderstanding.
Lisa has recorded a 5 part series reflecting on this struggle: Resisting the Dilution of Trauma Informed Practice — Dr Lisa Cherry
