A Year 9 boy created a Nazi camp within the game Roblox

He shared it with friends who alerted staff

School made a Prevent referral which was picked up and the Chanel programme provided tailored support
Information was recorded on the school’s safeguarding system for the child involved (Category of Behaviour: Unsafe Online and Prevent referral to demonstrate school’s action)
Parents were informed. School’s concerns were escalated when dad encouraged his son’s activity calling it ‘creative’ and mum minimised her son’s actions stating that he was just ‘playing around
Based on parents’ response to the incident, a referral was made to children’s social care. After a conversation with parents the social worker advised Early help. Parents declined this offer

Additional actions which could be considered:

Pol-ed sessions for the wider group from secondary resources such as ‘What is extremism?’

Children’s social care. Early help was refused.
