Incident Description

A group of Year 9 students have cropped photos of staff in pairs against each other and posted them on Tik Tok with captions ‘Who Would win in a fight?’.

Guidance for Safeguarding Response

• School informed parents that the incident was logged on their child’s chronology and warned that any future incidents of a similar nature could result in suspension or ultimately in permanent exclusion if their child did not engage in the support offered and follow school’s expectations
• School spoke to Community Police to request support
• Targeted online safety work was completed with the group in school

Additional actions which could be considered:

• Pol-ed sessions for the group and wider peer group from secondary resources such as ‘are we responsible with social media?’ and ‘Banter or bullying?’
