Local Inclusion Panel (LIP)

A multi‑agency panel that supports schools to meet the needs of children at risk of exclusion, isolation, or disengagement from education.

Schools can refer to the LIP when internal support options have been exhausted. The panel reviews cases, identifies appropriate interventions (including alternative provision or SEND pathways), agrees short‑term support plans, and helps coordinate timely, joined‑up responses to promote inclusion and prevent escalation.
