Year of the Adolescent Programme: Adolescent Brain Development

Event Details

This multimodal presentation will provide an overview of adolescent brain development, including what neuroscience tells us about this stage of development.  We will explore how adolescent brain development can impact on a young person’s social, emotional and cognitive development; identity formation; and behaviour, as well as helpful relational responses to promote connection.

Trusting Hands Gateshead/Future Focus Newcastle are multidisciplinary teams of mental health practitioners implementing trauma-informed care approaches across Gateshead/Newcastle Children’s Social Care respectively, as part of the NHS England Framework for Integrated Care (Community). The aims of the services are to provide support to ‘high risk, high harm, high vulnerability’ young people through a relationally based, psychologically informed approach.
