NSCP Briefing: Learning from Baby DF

This NSCP briefing focuses on the learning established in a rapid review following concerns about the safety of a baby. It covers a wide range of established learning points such as the role of fathers and male care givers, domestic abuse, exploitation, parental substance misuse, measuring impact and change, assessment and multi-agency chronologies. This session will include emerging learning relating to:

1. How professionals need to understand how the care experienced young parents are supported
2. How professionals can understand both the strengths and vulnerabilities of young parents – particularly in relation to parenting capacity and the safety of the child.

This session is aimed at the multi-agency workforce – it is relevant for everyone, not just those who work with younger children and babies.
