Briefing: Which children are most likely to be in poverty in the UK?
The government formed a Child Poverty Taskforce in August 2024 to develop a child poverty strategy ‘to reduce and alleviate child poverty’ (PDF). The strategy is due to be announced in spring 2025. This Insight provides the latest data, published on 27 March 2025, on which children are most likely to be in poverty. It is of use to practitioners working with families as it provides insights to support identification of some of the factors influencing child poverty.
