SUMMARY:Understanding and Responding to Child Neglect
DESCRIPTION:Join us for a focused briefing exploring the complex and often hidden issue of child neglect. Drawing on key insights from the Independent Inquiry’s thematic analysis\, this session will highlight how neglect is experienced by children\, the challenges it presents for practitioners\, and why it remains one of the most prevalent yet under-recognised forms of harm. \nThe briefing will also introduce Multi-Systemic Therapy (MST) as an evidence-informed approach to working with families where neglect is a feature. We will consider how MST’s whole-system\, strengths-based model can support sustainable change by addressing the wider family\, social and environmental factors that contribute to neglect. \nThis session is ideal for practitioners looking to deepen their understanding\, strengthen their response\, and consider practical approaches to improving outcomes for children.
